I've been curious for awhile about these 2-CD sets of country music on England's Hump Head label, so I bought a few just to see what's up. Here's what I've learned. But, the tracks are pulled strictly from the Universal vaults, so, if the artist recorded for labels not owned by Universal - in Craddock's case, most notably his 's rockabilly side - those songs ain't here.

Regardless, they're a really great deal. At 50 tracks a piece, that's way, way cheaper than downloading the equivalent song selection - my, what have we come to? Besides, many of these tracks haven't been available before on either CD or MP3.

Anyway, all three included a long biographical essay - informative, but not too illuminating - and bare bones track annotation just songwriters and dates, which were often wrong.
